Green Garnet is a robust natural mineral known for its excellent blasting performance, thanks to its superior hardness, toughness, density, and angularity.
When blasting gas pipes and facilities, especially those with gas flowing through the system, metallic abrasives like copper slag are prohibited. This is because metallic abrasives can generate sparks during blasting, posing a risk of ignition. In such cases, mineral abrasives are the preferred choice for safety and performance.
IRGarnet is specifically manufactured to meet the stringent standards of ISO 11126‐10 and SSPC-AB 1, ensuring it is fully compliant for use as a mineral blast-cleaning abrasive.

Grain Size
Iran Grit provides two meshes for blast cleaning:
- Mesh 20-40 ( 0.4-0.85 mm) Sa 3 / SP 5 , 20-40 µ
- Mesh 30-60 ( 0.25-0.6 mm) Sa 3 / SP 5 , 10-30 µ
This abrasive, due to its grain size, is not suitable for achieving a surface profile greater than 50 µ. As a result, it is not ideal for applications in shipyard industries, large structures, pipelines, or other projects requiring surface profiles exceeding 50 µ.
